Moisturizers are formulated to add moisture to the hair. Moisturizing treatments are applied after a chemical service(relaxer or perm) or when your hair is really dry. This is because, during the application of the chemical, hair is stripped of moisture leaving it dry and “thirsty”. It is therefore important to restore moisture through a moisturizing treatment.
hair is said to be hygroscopic in nature meaning that, it is able to absorb moisture from the atmosphere but sometimes its internal structure can be damaged making it hard for the hair to absorb enough moisture. Dry hair needs moisture and daily application to hair is normal, then you need to apply it every time you visit the saloon three times a week.
CONDITIONING AND ORDINAY TREATMENT.
Treatments are formulated with different strengths depending on the condition of the hair. We have instant conditioners which are applied to the hair and then rinsed out. These are mostly used in a shampoo and set.
Deep penetrating treatments are applied to the hair and then covered minutes depending on the instructions and state of hair. As the name suggests, these are treatments and can be applied immediately after relaxer too although its not common.
Leave- in treatments just as the name suggests, are left on the hair and not rinsed off after application. The hair is set or blow dried with the treatment still on. They are lighter hence able to infiltrate in the hair slowly without causing damaged.
PRICING.
Salons price their services differently depending on various reasons like location and their supplier. However, most salons price deep penetrating and leave – in treatments higher than instant treatments.
The word treatment is generally misunderstood. Some even refer to relaxers as treatments and yet hair treatments are actually conditioners. They are formulated to condition the hair- or treat it if you like-hence the word treatment.
